OPPO has released a brand new mid-range smartphone Reno11 F in Ukraine. The device has a modern design, a bright AMOLED screen, IP65 moisture protection, and a good camera. But the model also has many drawbacks, and you will find out whether it is worthy of attention in the review below.

Packaging and equipment

OPPO Reno11 F comes in a standard cardboard box in silver and white colors.

Inside is a smartphone with a film stuck to the screen, a USB-C cable, a 67W power supply, a paper clip to open the SIM card slot (two nanoSIM cards or one nanoSIM + microSD card), documentation and a silicone case.

Design and ergonomics

OPPO Reno11 F — is another typical representative of the modern middle class. The smartphone has flat edges, rounded corners, and a large protruding module with the main cameras. The dimensions of the model are 161.6 × 74.7 × 7.54 mm, and it weighs 177 grams. The body is plastic. The ends are matte, and the back cover is glossy.

But the smartphone is distinguished by pearlescent patterns on the back. They shine, shimmer, and seem to move when the smartphone is turned from side to side.

On the front panel, we see thin bezels around the screen and a round cutout for the front camera.

On the back, in addition to the aforementioned pearlescent patterns and cameras, there is an OPPO inscription.

On the right side of OPPO Reno11 F is the lock button and volume keys. On the left side there is a SIM card slot, a microphone on the top edge, and another microphone, a USB-Type C port and a speaker on the bottom.

The smartphone is light and thin, and fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. Despite the plastic body and glossy surface, the smartphone does not slip out of your hand. Also, there is no dust, fingerprints, or other traces of use on it at all. At least in this color.

The OPPO Reno11 F body is IP65 protected. This means that the device «is not afraid of» direct jets, splashes, and dust. However, you should not immerse the smartphone underwater.

OPPO Reno11 F display

OPPO Reno11 F has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The pixel density is 394 ppi. Support for HDR 10+ is declared, the peak automatic brightness is 900 nits, and the manual brightness is — 500 nits. The peak brightness is more than enough to use the smartphone without any problems in direct sunlight. The screen is protected by tempered Panda glass. Always-On Display is also available.

The display has a built-in optical fingerprint scanner. It works well, but sometimes it does not respond to wet fingers, which is a very common problem with all such sensors. It’s located quite low, but you always have to look at the person and their finger length, as well as the size of their hands. Some people will find this location convenient, while others will not. In this case, everything is individual.

The OPPO Reno11 F display is one of the main advantages of the smartphone. It is bright and detailed, has good viewing angles, and the image does not turn gray or distort when viewed from the side.

The screen settings have all the modern features, including dark and light themes, changing the refresh rate (60 Hz, 120 Hz, or automatic), changing the color temperature, reading mode, changing fonts, and more. There are also detailed settings for the always-on screen.

Sound and vibration response

OPPO Reno11 F has one speaker, so the sound is mono. I don’t know what the developers were guided by when they didn’t add a second speaker, especially for a similar price tag. But it’s not there, so this is one of the main disadvantages of the smartphone.

However, at least the single speaker is loud. It does not buzz at maximum volume and even has hints of bass. The vibration response is standard and there are no additional settings.

In addition to basic CBS and AAC, the device also supports the popular aptX HD codec. Therefore, if the wireless headphones are adequate, the sound will be appropriate as well. There’s no audio jack, so if you’re only for wired headphones, you’ll have to use an adapter.

OPPO Reno11 F is equipped with proprietary OReality Audio technology. It optimizes audio to improve sound quality. We also have the «Clear Voice» function to filter out background noise during calls.

OPPO Reno11 F cameras

OPPO Reno11 F has a triple main camera. The main sensor is a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B. The second module is an 8-megapixel wide-angle Sony IMX355, and the third is a 2-megapixel GalaxyCore GC02M1 macro module. As you can see, the telephoto module was not included, but the main camera is able to make an excellent double zoom in portrait mode.

In good light, OPPO Reno11 F takes high-quality photos. They are characterized by adequate exposure, saturation and contrast, as well as a wide dynamic range. Photos are taken with an emphasis on realism, without unnecessary digital cheating. However, this is without active HDR. If you need something more spectacular and saturated, you need to activate it. Night photography is not very good because there is a lot of noise, but if you take photos in the evening or in the morning at sunrise, their quality improves significantly.

Filming is possible in 4K/30 fps, 1080p at 60/30 fps and lower. However, there is no optical stabilization. There is only digital stabilization.

The front camera is 32 megapixels and it’s a Sony IMX709. It takes good pictures, but in portrait mode, and with a detailed background, artifacts appear at the edges of the object. The sensor can shoot video in 4K/30 fps. Digital stabilization is also available, but only at 1080p/30 fps.

In general, cameras are another advantage of a smartphone. They are unexpectedly good, at least because of their characteristics.

Productivity, software, and games

The OPPO Reno11 F is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chip, made on a 6-nm process. It has two 2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 cores and six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The graphics here are Mali-G68 MC4. There is 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM. Built-in 256 GB UFS 3.1. You can also insert a microSD card up to and including 2 TB. If necessary, you can add up to 8 GB of virtual RAM. Communications are represented by Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo and QZSS, GSM/HSPA/LTE/5G, USB Type-C 2.0, OTG.

See the results of various benchmarks and stress tests below. I should note that the processor is cold, but its performance is average. However, it is enough to run various «heavy» applications and modern popular mobile games at medium-high graphics settings with adequate fps without any problems.

OPPO Reno11 F runs on Android 14 with the proprietary ColorOS 14 shell. I like its design, which obviously copies iOS, but at the same time, there is no excess of pre-installed programs and services, no ads, etc. that other Chinese manufacturers are guilty of.

The shell is characterized by powerful user settings and an additional App Market app store. You can choose to control it with classic touch buttons or gestures, there are advanced photo editing options, etc.

The smartphone works quickly and without complaints. Of course, it’s better to set the screen to 120 Hz, but even in automatic mode, everything flies and doesn’t slow down.

OPPO Reno11 F battery life

OPPO Reno11 F is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. It supports fast charging with a power of 67 W and proprietary SuperVOOC 2.0 technology. The smartphone charges from 0 to 50% in 25 minutes. It takes 48 minutes to charge a full battery.

Under a standard load with Internet surfing, watching videos and playing a little gaming, the smartphone works for a day and a half without any problems. In PC Mark tests, the device showed a result of 14 hours and 28 minutes. In my opinion, this is more than a decent result.

User experience

OPPO Reno11 F — is undoubtedly a bright smartphone that attracts attention with its design. Of course, not everyone will like it, but so will any other model. That’s why design is always a matter of taste.

It’s good that it’s light and thin, it has an adequate package and a transparent case that does not hide its pearlescent shimmer. The overall impression is pleasant, but the model is a strong compromise. Although it should also be described as «balanced».

OPPO Reno11 F’s strengths are the screen, camera and battery. The weakest are the lack of stereo sound and the overpriced price. But let’s talk about the latter in the section below.

I also liked the cold chip, fast memory, and the ability to add virtual RAM. However, 256 GB of internal memory will not be enough for some, but there is no version with more. However, you can add a memory card up to 2 TB, which is quite rare. Let’s not forget about the more than adequate proprietary software, which looks like a powerful competitive advantage against other add-ons from most Chinese companies.

Price and competitors

OPPO Reno11 F is sold at a price starting at UAH 14,990. However, in large networks, the price tag of the smartphone is 16,999 hryvnias. In my opinion, the first option is adequate, but the second is not. Because for the same money, there are many popular, and most importantly, more powerful and technically superior models on the market.

Among competitors, the following models are worth paying attention to: realme 12 Pro Plus (our review here), Poco X6 Pro (our review here) with a price starting at UAH 12,200, Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G (our review here) with a price tag of UAH 9300 andRedmi Note 13 Pro Plus (price from UAH 13,300), Motorola Edge 40 5G with a price tag of UAH 12,300 andMotorola Edge 40 Neo (price from UAH 11,340). And let’s not forget about Samsung Galaxy A54 (price from UAH 11,800). As you can see, some of them cost less but offer better performance. Others have a similar price, but look even more powerful.
