Краш-тест Tesla Cybertruck
The Tesla Cybertruck electric vehicle has finally passed a series of rigorous tests under the NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program) protocol and received the highest possible rating of five stars. This was not a surprise, as Tesla vehicles traditionally demonstrate a high level of safety and receive the highest possible ratings.
Crash tests were held by the American National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Several Cybertruck vehicles were used for the tests. Although the tests were performed in 2024, the results have only just become available.
Frontal collision
Cybertruck received 5/5 stars for driver safety and 4/5 stars for passenger safety. An interesting point is that the knee airbags did not work. Tesla explained that they are simply not designed to be activated in such a scenario. The explanation seems strange.
Side impact
The test consisted of two parts: a simulated intersection impact (when another vehicle hits the truck) and a pole or other fixed object impact. In both tests, Cybertruck received the maximum rating of 5/5 stars.
Coup de grace (stability test)
In this test, the electric pickup received 4/5 stars. Experts estimated the risk of rollover at 12.4%, although the vehicle itself did not roll over during the test.
The Cybertruck has once again confirmed its high safety, which is important for such a non-standard vehicle. Although its unusual design may have raised doubts about its crash behavior, tests have shown that it fully meets high safety standards.
Although the Tesla Cybertruck provides a high level of protection inside, the experts expressed concernsIn the event of an accident, such a car could cause serious harm to pedestrians and cyclists, as well as damage to other vehicles.
