Anker bills itself as the «World’s #1 Charger Brand». So today, let’s take a look at one of their newest creations — the charging station Anker Solix C800X. It is a standalone solution for camping/outdoor use with two flashlights and a metal extension cord included. But now there are dozens of other use cases for this model in Ukraine, so let’s test the station in some home use scenarios.

Scope of delivery: charging station, power cable (AC, wall outlet), power cable (car) + extension cable, user manual and warranty card-book.
The one-meter-long AC power cable (16A) is a bit thicker than the usual 10A power cables that come with computer power supplies. It also has a ferrite ring filter, so you don’t want to lose this cable.
A special feature of the model is a pair of additional camping lanterns and a metal extension cord with a magnetic «ball» at the end. The extension cord is needed to mount these lanterns at a height. All three items are stored in a special drawer on top of the case.
The design of the Anker Solix C800X is typical for this class of devices: matte dark gray plastic for the handles and matte black plastic on the front panel.
What stands out is the top part with the Anker Solix inscription under «carbon» and part of the side grilles with blue lines.
However, «ordinary» is not a disadvantage for such a class of things as charging stations — practical things should look practical: they should be inconspicuous, not retain fingerprints, and be as durable as possible. That’s why the body of Anker Solix C800X feels so monolithic, not only visually, but also when you pick it up. I never once had the thought that the side handles would remain in my hands and the entire central structure would fly down on my feet.
All the main controls of the charging station are located on the central front panel, on the left side (charging station) and on the top (niche with lights and an extension cord).
One of the side panels is a hub for charging the station. It has a connector for the AC power cable, an overload protection plug, and a special connector for connecting a solar panel or charging from a car.
The following elements are located in front of the device:
The station is not small, with dimensions of 37.1×20.5×25.0 cm and weighs 10.9 kg. The handles on the sides allow you to carry it with relative ease with both hands or both.
On top, under the «carbon» lid with the inscription Anker Solix, there is a special compartment for storing and charging two flashlights (officially called AK-01) and a metal extension cord with a magnetic end. The battery of the flashlights is 2600 mAh. Both flashlights do not differ from each other, so you can put them in different compartments for charging.
When you press the button, the flashlight changes its operating modes:
The Anker Solix C800X has a 768 Wh battery, 1200 W of power, and a peak load of 1600 W. This should be enough not only for the usual things like a mobile phone, tablet, TV, or an entire computer, but also for heating food for a microwave oven, an electric heater for a short period of time with a minimum or medium heating mode, a small refrigerator, heating bread on a toaster, running a gas boiler, boiler, etc. But before you start working from the station, find out the consumption of your electrical appliances so that you don’t accidentally damage it.
Anker Stolix C800X has a UPS/UPS function. However, the response speed is 20 ms, which may not be enough for some powerful devices under load. However, I tried to test this mode by quickly pulling the cable out of the socket. The station was able to withstand the sudden loss of power from the Xbox Series X and TV, which together consumed 280 watts That is, for most devices, it will still work as a UPS
Anker suggests using the C800X not only at home, but also for outdoor activities or camping. An extension cord with two lights will help in the dark. However, you need to remember that when you’re outdoors, you need to be careful about water and dirt getting on the body because the stations have protection, but it’s not always as good as it is here. So be careful.
For both types of mobile OS, there is a proprietary Anker application (version for iOS and Android). It allows you to conveniently monitor the operation of your station remotely. And not just one!
Connecting to devices is simple: turn on WiFi/Bluetooth on your phone, press the button on the station (the app will tell you which one), and wait for the devices to pair (if Bluetooth). To connect remotely via WiFi, you need to register with Anker. It is good that there is a gray button in this registration window Skip. And yes, there is no Ukrainian language.
The Anker program allows you to browse:
There is also a key for advanced settings. For example, if you want to better preserve the built-in batteries or not hear the charging noise from the station (but take longer to charge), you can reduce the AC Recharging Power to a minimum of 200 W or a maximum of 450 W. Although once I saw a value of 833 watts of charging, which is clearly far beyond 750 watts.
Since the Anker Solix C800X is my first charging station, I decided to test a lot of things on myself. The first question was to determine whether the charge is lost significantly in 4-5 days. For example, you take it out and charge it, but you don’t need it now and it just stands there, and you need it only in a week or two. I found out the following: in four days, 1% was not even used up (89% of the charge was at the beginning).
Of course, for tests, you need to fully charge it to 100%. And then I noticed a few things:
Tip: after charging the device, press and hold the key for 2-3 seconds Power — the station will turn off. Otherwise, it will remain on.
The first test case is a pair «TV + Satellite TV». During the tests, I had a misunderstanding. The decoder (and the satellite dish attached to it) are connected to the charging station and work, but the station does not show that it is consuming energy. And this is not the only device that the station will not see «and show» in the statistics. This is the case in many other competitor models
After trying to connect a few more «invisible» devices, one thing became clear: devices that are plugged into sockets and consume less than 20 watts are not shown in the statistics. However, this does not apply to devices that are plugged into USB connectors. For example, wireless headphones with 1 W USB Type-A charging are visible, but the 15 W power supply of a Samsung — tablet is not.
Scenario | Working hours | Commentary |
TV + Satellite TV | 4 h 9 min | Consumption 120-140 W; the station did not see the decoder. |
After this test, the device showed more 5% charge (approximately 12 minutes of operation). I believe that this time is enough to watch 3-4 episodes of a TV series or almost a full season of anime.
Charging test. After the previous 11% in 30+ minutes, I realized that the promised 100% in 58 minutes should not be expected without the use of special «permissions» for this. The manufacturer warns that you should turn on the UltraFast Charging function only when necessary! Therefore, I wonder how long it will take to charge from 5% to 100% with the usual 750 W mode.
Scenario | Working hours | Commentary |
Charging station 5 – 100% | 1 h 55 min | Charging mode 750 W |
Charging of the station 89 – 100% | 30-33 min | Charging mode 750 W. Constant noise 50 decibels. |
Charging of the station 89 — 100% | 48 min | Charging mode 200 W Constant noise of 30 decibels. |
As for charging 5—100%. It turns out that on average, a little more than 1 minute of charging is required for 1% of the charge, but the last 99-100% was charged for more than six minutes. This last percentage always took longer to charge than the others in all charging tests and caused the most noise at 60 decibels.
Game test. For this test, I chose two games: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (a heavy 3D game) and Vampire Survivors (a 2D game). Why two games? First, a game with 2D graphics will consume less power. Secondly, it’s interesting to know how much less and how much the Xbox consumes in general. Test «build»: TV + Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series X consumes 40 watts when it’s just turned on.
Scenario | Operating time (expected) | Commentary |
Vampire Survivors | 2 h 48 min | Total consumption 210-230 W |
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (Performance mode) | 2 h 24 min | Total consumption 255-285 W |
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (Quality mode) | 2 h 6 min | Total consumption 280-313 W |
The biggest surprise is not that Vampire Survivors is not such a light game. It’s that the Performance mode (60 fps) in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 consumes less power than the Quality mode (30 fps). Some may say that this is not critical, but sometimes you need those extra minutes.
Test «Nail salon at home». Let’s say you want to buy a portable charging station like the Anker Solix C800X for your beauty salon or to work with clients at home during power outages. Test bench/table: table LED lamp (not seen by the station), nail milling machine (not seen by the station), hood (20-22 W), after 1 hour, replaced with a drying lamp (30-32 W).
Scenario | Working hours | Commentary |
Manicure stand / table | 3 hours | Minus 9% of the charge. |
Women and girls love manicures. But not everyone can do it. Professional nail technicians can complete one client in about an hour and a half to two hours. Therefore, buying one such station will allow you to work ALL day without thinking about the light. If you buy one for a three-seat salon, you can calculate that in three hours, 27% of the charge will be consumed for three workstations, and one full charge will last for nine hours of work.
Anker Solix C800X price starts from 20 480 UAH. For this price, the Anker Solix C800X fills a niche between small portable stations such as EcoFlow RIVER 3 UPS (from 12699 UAH), and heavyweights such as Segway Cube 1000 (from 35200 UAH). This can definitely be called the «golden mean», but not everyone needs additional lights, which means not everyone will want to pay extra for them.
The Anker Solix C800X model has two competitors within the Anker model line:
The main competitor of the model is EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro (from UAH 18390). Although this model has a lower rated power (800 W), no backlight, and only one USB Type-C port, it weighs less (7.8 kg). Other competitors, unfortunately, have only a built-in pair of sockets, but may have a larger battery. For example, Oukitel P1201 (from UAH 21899), or BLUETTI AC70P (from UAH 20299).
