The EVOLVE PoweredBy MSI 5H+ White Shadow is based on a compact white chassis with ARGB backlighting. It has a glass side panel and an efficient cooling system: «tower» Arctic Freezer 36 A-RGB White.
All the backlighting has several settings, but no one forbids you to turn it off. To change/deactivate the RGB backlight of the cooler unit, it is enough to practice with the button located on the front I/O panel. But the «Evolve» inscription is configured in the proprietary software – MSI Center, which is already preinstalled in the system.
The operating system on board our gaming machine is Windows 11, and everything is ready to go. Here comes the first quest: finding a license key. We will test game projects in both Full HD and Quad HD. Although, of course, we have a 1080p PC here.

EVOLVE PoweredBy MSI 5H+ arrived in its original box from the MSI MAG FORGE M100R case. Inside you can find an envelope with documentation, as well as various accessories, including an M2 Locker and a Wi-Fi antenna, which will allow you to finally forget about the «twisted» pair.
The entire system unit is wrapped in foam rubber as if it were a porcelain work of art. This is logical, because you don’t want even a slight shake to damage it during transportation. This is a plus! There is a film on the glass panel. Therefore, the ritual of removing it will not pass you by.
The case is well ventilated, because we have «on board» four fans. On the front panel you will find three USB Type A ports, but unfortunately, there is no room for Type C.
The side panel is made of durable glass, and the cables are neatly grouped. And to keep it all from looking too modest, the entire case is backlit, including the «Evolve» logo. The enclosure is equipped with removable dust filters, which makes maintenance and care of the system much easier.

AMD Ryzen 5 7500°F on the AM5 socket is a very good solution in its price segment. Its closest competitor, the Intel Core i5-13500, costs significantly more and is only kept close by the large number of energy-efficient cores.
The RAM does not cause any complaints, but there is a moment with the drive — when it is filled to more than 97-98%, the write speed drops so much that sometimes it seems that the computer just «went to lunch».
In general, we can say that this is a modern gaming computer that also copes well with work tasks. Thanks to RTX 4060With the help of the newly developed software, you can run local neural networks, quickly process 3D graphics, and perform other resource-intensive tasks.
For owners of Full HD monitors, this video card is a pretty good choice. However, at Quad HD, it’s already running almost at the limit of its capabilities. It still copes with today’s projects, but the question of the future is questionable.
EVOLVE PoweredBy MSI 5H+ can easily handle Dota 2, Counter Strike 2, Valorant, Fortnite, World of Warcraft, World of Tanks, Minecraft, and the like. You don’t need a super-powered PC to run them comfortably — even budget configurations can handle them without any problems.
But what about the superheavyweight AAA category? We tested in Full HD and Quad HD resolutions, and the results showed that this configuration is not a match for serious challenges. But there is one thing.

Yes, in VRAM. 8 GB of video memory on RTX 4060 — is, to put it mildly, a stumbling block for modern games and heavy tasks. Large textures and rays «eat up» this amount, which leads to slower RAM overloads and friezing. In 1440p and higher resolutions, this shortage is felt even more strongly. For a card of this level, I would like to see at least 12 GB, so as not to feel like an expensive sports car with a small gas tank.
The situation hasn’t changed dramatically, and with the right settings, you can achieve a comfortable gaming experience. DLSS in QuadHD saves the day, plus the image quality is better than in FullHD.
On the plus side, the map is cold and quiet. The temperature indicators allow you to play overclocker and try to get an additional 3-4% of performance.
Under maximum load in benchmarks and games, the computer consumes up to 205-207 watts. But when doing office tasks or watching videos on YouTube, it consumes only 70-75 watts. In idle mode (desktop), the «system consumes» 65-70 watts.
«The reason for this is the fans and RGB backlighting located throughout the case, as well as the features of the AMD platform: it saves energy perfectly under load, but in idle mode it consumes a little more electricity than Intel solutions. So be prepared for a few extra watts.
The noise is light (almost non-existent): — 42-47 dB near the case, and at a distance of a meter and a half it drops to 37-40 dB. When idle, you can hear the case fans working, the video card makes almost no sound, but the CPU tower was the loudest.
At peak loads, the processor heats up to 71 °C, and this is quite normal. The video card keeps 38-40 degrees Celsius in idle mode, and in games it is no hotter than 71 degrees. Cooling works great, and the fan system justifies itself.
EVOLVE PoweredBy MSI 5H+ comes preinstalled with Windows 11, but it is not activated, which can cause additional limitations in the system’s functionality. In addition, the computer has a live wallpaper program that regularly loads the system by 3-5%, which in turn increases power consumption. Its expediency raises questions if you are not a fan of aesthetic novelties. For example, I use Bing Wallpaper.
As for the backlight, there is a problem with its synchronization: although it works in one color, the lower «Evolve» logo changes color with a slight delay, about 500-1000 ms. This may be minor, but it still affects the overall visual consistency (Google it!).
It’s really nice when a computer works without any hassle — «you take it out of the box, plug it in, and you’re working». That’s exactly what the EVOLVE PoweredBy MSI 5H+ is: ready to use right out of the box, with no additional setup or customization required.
It’s a classic build that, while not perfectly balanced, delivers a good level of performance with room for further upgrades.
In two weeks of active use, the PC has never «pleased» me with a BSOD or any other gimmick. Stable, cool and almost silent. The high-quality cooling system, stylish case and well-thought-out cable management make the use of the PC convenient and aesthetically pleasing.
Thanks to the well-thought-out layout, the interior looks nice and is well ventilated. Even in the «bagel» test, the temperature barely reached 70 degrees, while on HotSpot it was 80-81 degrees Celsius. In games, it’s mostly 60-65 degrees.
Unexpectedly, the assembly performed well in QuadHD testing. Yes, the conditional super-heavyweight and adventurer Indy brings the system to its knees. Only 1080p and more modest settings (specifically, texture size) save the day. But other projects allow you to play at a comfortable 60 fps even in 1440p with DLSS.
Yes, there is no safety margin for years for this resolution. But you can buy it later, for example, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. It’s also worth adding a storage device: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD and attach the hard disk: Seagate BarraCuda 8TB HDD. Because 1 TB is still not enough.
EVOLVE PoweredBy MSI 5H+ costs 51249 hryvnias.
