The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro gaming mouse has been around for several years, but now it has an updated version with the 35K prefix in its name. The novelty has a more advanced sensor, and most importantly, the manufacturer decided not to touch the other working elements of the model that work and make it so special. In this review, we will find out for whom this novelty was created, what makes it stand out among competitors, who will definitely benefit from it, who should think about it, and who should not pay attention at all.

The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K comes in a small cardboard box in the brand’s signature black and green colors.
Inside we can see the gaming mouse itself, documentation, a USB-A to USB-C adapter cable with a nylon coating, and a USB receiver.
The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K has a matte black or white body with glossy stripes. The design of the model is modern and recognizable at the same time. It has an aggressive gaming look that immediately shows which category it belongs to.
The mouse measures 130×75.4×42.5 mm and weighs 112 grams. The mouse has an asymmetrical shape, with a thumbhole in its body and a bulge in the thumb. This means that it is designed only for right-handed gamers, while left-handed players will have to look for something else.
On the left side of the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K we see a grooved insert, three additional keys of different shapes, and a curved thumb rest.
There is nothing on the right side of the mouse — we see only the same textured body as on the left. This helps the palm of your hand not to slip during use, which means you can hold the mouse firmly even during the most fierce virtual battles.
The Razer logo with RGB backlighting is placed on the back of the mouse.
On the front, we see an angled body and a USB-C port for charging or use.
Above, there are a pair of rather narrow main keys, a wheel with grooved notches, and a couple of additional function buttons. The first one is responsible for wheel rotation, and the second one switches DPI.
The bottom of the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K has four PTFE feet, a sensor, mode and profile switches, and a hiding place for the included USB dongle.
The main feature of the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is the new second-generation Focus Pro 35K optical sensor with a maximum sensitivity of 35,000 DPI (from 100) and a speed of 750 IPS. The maximum acceleration is 70G. It features intelligent motion tracking and synchronization, as well as asymmetric detachment.
The mouse polling frequency varies from 100 to 8000 Hz. However, in the latter case, you need to buy a special HyperPolling Wireless Dongle, which is sold separately, or a Razer Mouse Dock Pro station. And the bundled receiver provides up to 1000 Hz inclusive.
Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K has a 13-zone RGB backlight. This includes the scroll wheel, the logo on the «belly», and the backlight strip on the bottom of the case.
The gaming mouse is equipped with third-generation proprietary optical switches with a claimed lifespan of 90 million clicks and a response time of 0.2 ms.
The HyperScroll Tit Wheel will also be an interesting find. It can work in normal mode with clear and short scrolls, and if necessary, switch to «free» mode, very fast and easy to rotate. The latter is convenient to use when surfing the web, either for large documents or PDFs.
The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K works in three modes: basic connection to the device via cable, Bluetooth connection, and via a 2.4GHz USB receiver.
The gaming mouse works with the proprietary Razer Synapse program. This is a multifunctional software that is integrated with other programs of the manufacturer, and all this is combined into one Razer Axon service with ultra-wide capabilities.
Razer Synapse itself offers many features and capabilities. It allows you to change the sampling rate, record macro commands, play with the backlight, change the DPI, create and switch between five available profiles. There is also a function to automatically switch the wheel to «free» mode and back.
In general, the proprietary program looks modern and stylish, it has many features, but at the same time it is relatively easy to understand.
I haven’t found any information about the battery capacity of the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K anywhere. But the claimed battery life is not bad. In the mode of connection via a 2.4 GHz receiver, the mouse can work up to 140 hours, and if it is a Bluetooth connection and even without backlighting, then you can reach 210 hours on a single charge. Also, please remember that the mouse works in wired mode.
In the app, you can set the power saving mode to activate at different percentages of charge. The default setting is 30%. This means that when the battery reaches 30%, the mouse turns off the backlight and the wheel flashes red. This is a kind of reminder to the user that it needs to be recharged soon. It is very convenient.
However, the actual battery life does not correspond to the claimed one. I used the mouse through the receiver for 7-10 hours a day, and it lasted 10 days. That is, even if we take 10 hours a day, it turns out to be 100 hours, but not 140.
Like most Razer products, I liked the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K gaming mouse. After all, the manufacturer’s devices have never caused any complaints, but people don’t like the price. As for this model, it’s not small either, but it’s also a flagship mouse. However, it is surprising that in this segment the user has to pay extra for various features that the new product is equipped with.
In my opinion, it’s strange that you have to buy a separate dongle to unlock the highest polling frequency of the mouse. In this segment and for the price of the mouse, it could have been added to the package, or just made an existing feature of the mouse out of the box.
Otherwise, we have no complaints about the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K at all. Well, except for the slightly lower battery life from the receiver. But it can always be connected via cable, so there’s that.
I liked the design, shape, and comfort of the gaming mouse. The case looks modern and reliable, the hand on the mouse is very comfortable, but it is only for right-handed people, so keep that in mind.
I would also like to mention the free scrolling function of the HyperScroll Tit Wheel. My main mouse Logitech Mx Master 3 also has a similar function and I constantly use it. And here it’s a different segment altogether, but you can scroll rapidly. I don’t remember any other models for gaming that have this feature, and if you know of any, please write the names in the comments. In the meantime, for me, this is one of the main features of this mouse because during the tests I didn’t actually have to relearn how to use it, didn’t make any compromises compared to my main mouse. Of course, this is my particular case, and you may not need this superfast scrolling at all. But it’s there, and you can use it if you need it.
You can also set the «free» wheel scrolling function to automatic mode in the application settings, but it didn’t work for me. It was more convenient to switch with the button next to the wheel exactly when you need it. However, perhaps it took a little more time. In any case, it is good that this feature is available.
The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K weighs 112 grams, so I don’t think it will be often chosen by eSports players or people who plan to become them. This is a kind of universal option for gaming anything, including shooters, for which there is a special button. As you can see, it can also be used for work. The gaming mouse is impossible to break during the game, it is relatively lightweight, has wide settings, an incredible sensor, and reliable branded switches with a lifespan of 90 million clicks. It also fits several grips.
The white body shows no dust at all, but over time, dirt and other traces of use will definitely be visible on the side corrugated parts. Therefore, these areas should be given more attention. At least in the white version of the mouse.
Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is sold at a price of UAH 7,800. For models from this manufacturer, and for the flagship segment, this is an adequate price tag, but there will be those who find it expensive.
Alternatively, you can simply Razer Basilisk V3 Pro with a first-generation 30K sensor, and it costs from 5800 UAH. If you like the brand’s models, but don’t want to buy a new one, they haveRazer Viper V3 Pro (price from 6700 UAH). This model is more suitable for esports. And let’s not forget about Razer Viper Ultimate with a price tag starting at UAH 4500.
Among other brands, it is worth highlighting the similar in form and focus Logitech G502 X Lightspeed (price from 3799 UAH), and there is also a much simpler, but also worthy of attention Logitech G309 Lightspeed (price from 2349 UAH), which we recently had review. Also pay attention toAsus ROG Gladius III Wireless AimPoint with a price tag of UAH 3300.
