On August 21, Netflix released the comedy action film «Nice Girls», which can be described as a buddy movie with a female cast. In the review below, we will tell you whether there is anything to see in the movie besides the bright, sun-drenched landscapes of the French Riviera.

Nice policewoman Leo takes on the investigation of the mysterious murder of her partner Ludo in Hamburg, despite the fact that the case was entrusted to a highly professional investigator from Germany. But during the investigation, it turns out that this specialist is a black detective, Melanie, who does not look much like the German who was supposed to arrive in France. Without much enthusiasm, the heroines are forced to join forces to solve the case, enlisting the support of a local, somewhat bumbling hacker.
However, along with the events that are important and even fundamental, there are also French misunderstandings on Netflix, one worse than the other. For example, the «Mad Max» setup called «The Wages of Fear», a funny sharksploitation «Under Paris» or, in fact, the fresh «Nice Girls». The latter can compete for the title of «the worst movie of August/summer/year» with last week’s streaming novelty «Jackpot!» — another killer of the audience’s IQ.
In short, «Nice Girls» — is a low-grade, boring nonsense that has been reduced to absolute boredom. To be more specific, it’s a crapshoot with crappy action, dumb school-drawing humor, stupid unattractive characters, and a generally poor plot. After such releases, it becomes obvious that Netflix has nowhere to go but down. At least, we would like to hope so.
The film, which is positioned as a comedy action movie, lacks not only noteworthy humor, fight scenes, interesting characters, and a sensible contrast between the characters of the main characters, when there are already hints of a buddy movie. It simply lacks common sense so that the viewer can somehow perceive the mess that is happening on the screen.
The authors seem to be trying to take the best from the cult franchise «Taxi» — here you have short-sighted caricatured cops from the local police station, and attempts to engage in an exciting crime investigation, and the joint work of dubious partners, and even high-speed races along winding roads that are an integral part of the unusually beautiful landscapes of the Côte d’Azur. Only these landscapes remain the only pleasure to watch. And Commissioner Gilbert would have died of shame for his clumsy colleague from Nice.
After systematically watching this kind of junk, an irresistible desire arises to have this kind of cinema banned at the legislative level.
And Netflix was not too lazy to order Ukrainian dubbing for this nonsense, while many really worthwhile projects on the service are left without Ukrainian voices. However, «Nice Girls» still manages to stand out from the dominance of tastelessness and outright mediocrity in contemporary cinema, at least within the «ITC»: meet the movie with a record low score.
