The series tells the story of a ruthless British killer known as the «Jackal» and an intelligence officer Bianca, who is tasked with discovering the killer’s identity and catching him. The plot is based on the 1971 novel of the same name by Frederick Forsyth, and the main roles are played by Oscar-winning Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch. The classic novel has been reimagined in a modern political context, so the events will take place in our time.
It should be reminded that filmmakers have already turned to Forsyth’s work before. In 1973, the film «The Day of the Jackal» was released, which was ranked 74th among the greatest British films of the 20th century by the British Film Institute. And in 1997, the world saw the Hollywood version called «The Jackal», which, however, had little in common with the novel or its first film adaptation. The main roles then went to Richard Gere and Bruce Willis.

In the last month material we wrote about «Diana» — an Italian spinoff of a hyped and expensive but mediocre series «Citadel». Now it’s the turn of the Indian spinoff. It will feature one of the main characters of the original project, Nadia Singh, though as a much younger version of Priyanka Chopra’s character. Thus, the local story predates the events shown in «Citadel» and connects this series to the only spy movie universe on Prime Video.
