The titles have not been announced yet, but this is the first official information about the new games. The developers will announce «Star Wars» soon, and the role-playing game has already been announced but has no title.
So, Lucasfilm and Respawn, the authors of Star Wars Jedi, will show a new game at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025. It is being developed together with Bit Reactor, the studio of the former creators of Civilization and XCOM. The first information about the project appeared in 2022. The official presentation of the game is scheduled for April 19, and the first trailer may be released. Here is what it is about schedule of the event:
«Join Bit Reactor together with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games for the first look at the new turn-based tactical game «Star Wars».
It was previously confirmed that the game is based on Unreal Engine 5. In March last year, Bit Reactor assured that the project was not affected by the layoffs at EA, which is the game’s publisher. Greg Förtsch, the head of Bit Reactor, previously spoke about the intention to create a deep, elaborate, and at the same time accessible game.
Fans of D&D and Baldur’s Gate 3 may like the other news, although it did not come from Larian. In a recent conversation with Business Insider Critical Role talked about working on a new RPG based on the Dungeons & Dragons system. This is a group of professional voice actors who are known for their D&D games broadcast on Twitch. They are quite popular among fans and are involved in the creation of the animated series «The Legend of Vox Machina».
Critical Role co-founder Travis Willingham said that the band is working on a video game, and fans won’t have to wait long — the announcement could happen «any moment». It will be set in Exandria, the world of D&D, and players will have a significant impact on the events there.
«Players will actually control the outcome of the story, changing what is possible, not only through some of their favorite characters, but also through new figures in the world of Exandria»
It is known that Hasbro, the owner of Wizards of the Coast and D&D, is currently looking for a partner to create Baldur’s Gate 4, which Larian will no longer be involved in. The new information gives hope to the fans of the series.
