DSOGaming, a publication specializing in video game performance testing, published rating of 2024 projects with the best graphics. Experts evaluated only the visual component, without taking into account game optimization.
The game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle received the highest rating due to ray tracing technology and high-quality 3D character models. «No other game gives this kind of next-generation feel», — DSOGaming noted. Despite some low-resolution textures, experts believe that even games of 2025 are unlikely to surpass its graphical component.
The second place went to Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 which DSOGaming called «by far the best UE5 game released in 2024». The project is characterized by detailed characters and skillful use of Lumen and Nanite technologies. According to the publication, there is not a single graphic element in «that» can find fault with.
Remake Silent Hill 2 rounded out the top three. The developers have created large-scale locations and preserved the unique artistic style of the original game. «After playing it on a powerful PC, you will understand why the game took such a high place. It looks incredible», — DSOGaming emphasized.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 from GSC Game World studio took eighth place. «Considering all the difficulties of recent years, it’s a miracle that we got this game», — DSOGaming noted. The publication highly appreciated the HDR-enabled graphics, although it noted some shortcomings, such as problems with flashlight shadows and texture loading, which can be fixed with modifications.
