Why complicate things when you can simplify them? Thought one of the participants of the theoretical driving test in Stryi, Lviv region, and put on smart glasses to pass the test with flying colors.
However, the administrator of the local service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is apparently well acquainted with technology, so she immediately recognized the glasses as one of the variations of the Meta Ray-Ban gadget.
Meta Ray-Ban glasses series equipped with cameras, a speaker and a microphone, so the Ministry of Internal Affairs assumed that the driver, as a «special agent», broadcast the question to someone «outside» and received answers in real time.
«Mission: pass the exam. Status: failed. A man came to the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Stryi to take a theoretical exam. But instead of knowledge, he decided to rely on high technology – he took out his smart glasses with a camera and… turned on the “special agent mode”. He probably planned to broadcast the questions to the outside and get answers in real time. But the “007” plan ended before it even began: the administrator noticed the spy gadget and the exam was immediately stopped», — wrote on the page of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, adding a photo from «the scene».
The center added that they always appreciate creativity when it comes to knowledge, but still consider the ability to pass an exam honestly to be a real superpower. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (via Ukrinform), more than 200,000 practical exams have been held since the beginning of 2025, but only 16% of candidates pass and receive driver’s license on the first attempt.
Last week, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced the launch of an online exam for obtaining a driver’s license directly in the application «Action» — using artificial intelligence for control.
