Adobe has launched a new Photoshop mobile app for iPhone (an Android version is promised later this year), which offers a bunch of artificial intelligence tools for designing and editing photos, or creating images from scratch.
In fact, a simplified version of Photoshop (called Photoshop Express) on Adobe’s mobile devices has been offering since 2010However, the new application, according to the company, is «more powerful than» and provides a wider range of recognizable features of the original program.
The free version includes masks, layers, image compositing features, and some newer tools based on generative AI of Adobe Firefly, while the paid version for $7.99 per month or $69.99 per year includes Photoshop features such as Object Select, Magic Wand, Content Aware Fill, Clone Stamp, and Remove Tool, as well as light/dark adjustment options, advanced blending modes for transparency control, color effects, and more. In addition, in the latter case, the application integrates with Photoshop on the web, which allows you to work with your project on multiple devices at once.
Users who already have paid access to Photoshop will get premium access to the mobile app — but it’s not clear whether this includes paid Photoshop Express users. Adobe plans to keep both programs running in the future, which will undoubtedly cause some confusion.
