Adobe unveils new AI tools for Photoshop and other Creative Cloud apps

Published by Ihor Panchenko

Photoshop has received the most updates, but Illustrator and Premiere Pro have also undergone significant changes.

Adobe has introduced a number of new AI-based features for its Creative Cloud programs during the annual Adobe Max conference.

Photoshop has been enriched with a new feature Distraction Removal («Remove Distractions»), which complements the existing Remove tool. This new feature automatically detects and removes elements such as people, wires, and cables with a single click. Users can now choose between using generative AI (based on the Adobe Firefly model) or non-generative AI to work with the Remove tool.

Adobe has updated the model Firefly Image 3, which now works with the Generative Fill, Generative Expand, Generate Similar, and Generate Background tools. The company claims that the new version improves the variety and photorealism of generated images, as well as better understanding of complex queries.

Adobe Illustrator has a new Objects on Path feature that lets you quickly attach, position, and move objects along any path shape. The Mockup tool for creating mockups on 3D models has been made available to the public, and the Image Trace feature for converting raster images to vector images has been improved.

InDesign got the Generative Expand tool, which allows you to expand images to fit any layout. Premiere Pro now features Generative Extend, which is based on the new Firefly AI Video model.

Most of the new features are already available to users, but some, such as Generative Extend in Premiere Pro, are in beta.
