Altcoins may experience a serious price drop in the coming months. This will happen most actively by the end of 2024 or January 2025. This is the forecast made founder of ITC Crypto Benjamin Cohen. His forecast is based on the historical cycle of the crypto market. The last massive drop in altcoins occurred during the bear market in 2019. The coins then gradually recovered their value throughout 2020 and soared to new heights in 2021.
The analyst believes that a similar scenario could happen again in 2025. In another tweet, he said that altcoin pairs to bitcoin «have been bleeding» for three years in a row, recalling that the latter altseasons followed the bitcoin halves of 2017 and 2021, respectively. The last halving was in April 2024.
The day before, analyst Willie Wu said that the altcoin season (a process in which the value of cryptocurrencies is constantly growing) will still continue, but profitability will decline.
Many experts expect that the next trend will be memecoins. They will be the main driver of the market in 2025.
