Apple has announced that the Vision Pro virtual reality headset priced at $3499 will be sold worldwide starting June 28. The first countries outside the US to receive Vision Pro will be China, Japan, and Singapore (pre-orders from June 13). They will be followed by Germany, France, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada, where sales will begin on July 12 (pre-orders available from June 28).

Apple has recently cut production of Vision Pro due to low demand. Its value on the secondary market has dropped significantly, and it’s easy to find the headset on eBay for a discount of $1000 or more. Entering the international market should improve the situation.

Apple also announced VisionOS 2, the second version of the operating system for Vision Pro. Apple has updated the Photos app — the press of a button allows you to create spatial photos from ordinary images. A train mode was added to the airplane travel mode.

The company has updated the Mac’s virtual display feature — now it’s the equivalent of two 4K displays with a new virtual ultra-wide display option. The display unfolds like a curved ultrawide monitor. Apple has also added SharePlay to the VisionOS Photos app — you can share the app with another Vision Pro owner using Spatial Personas.

Apple also announced that Canon is releasing a new spatial lens for the EOS R7 designed specifically for Vision Pro content creation. The company says it will release its first immersive video with a script for the platform.
