Apple previously reported that it would release the Powerbeats Pro 2 wireless headphones in 2025, and now the date of the official announcement has been leaked. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the company plans to unveil the new wireless headphones next Tuesday, February 11.
Powerbeats Pro — is a sporty alternative to AirPods Pro that has built-in adjustable earbuds for a more secure fit. According to Gurman, the new model will feature the H2 chip, which is also used in AirPods Pro 2. This will significantly improve active noise cancellation compared to the original Powerbeats Pro.
Last year, Apple showed a teaser video in which baseball star Shohei Ohtani wore Powerbeats Pro 2. The video showed that the new model was thinner and more elongated vertically compared to the first version of the headphones, which was released in 2019 and is now out of production.
Earlier, it was revealed that Powerbeats Pro 2 will support heart rate measurement during workouts. According to the iOS 18 code, users will be able to connect the headphones to sports equipment, such as treadmills, to track their heart rate. The data will be available in the «Health» app and other supported apps on the iPhone.
The code also revealed that the Powerbeats Pro 2 will be available in new colors, including a vibrant Electric Orange («Electric Orange»). Gourmet confirmed both the heart rate monitoring feature and the new color scheme in its newsletter today.
In addition, the Powerbeats Pro 2 is expected to have improved sound quality, longer battery life, and better Android compatibility, including support for the Find My Device feature. Also, the charging case of the new model will have a USB-C port.
The price of Powerbeats Pro 2 is expected to be $250.
