Asus ROG XG Mobile 2025
Asus has officially unveiled the new ROG XG Mobile 2025 external graphics card (eGPU) dock with a powerful mobile version of the RTX 5090. This device announced at CES 2025, and now it is available in some markets.
The new Asus ROG XG Mobile 2025 is the world’s first Thunderbolt 5 eGPU station. The new product is an updated version of the Asus ROG XG Mobile docking station for laptops, and its main feature is the mobile version of the RTX 5090 graphics card. This graphics card has 10496 CUDA cores and 24 GB of GDDR7 memory with a 256-bit access bus. The video card has a power consumption of up to 150 watts.
The main advantage of ROG XG Mobile 2025 is its ultra-compact dimensions. It is much smaller than most eGPU docks that are usually designed for large desktop graphics cards. The dimensions are 208×155×29.6 mm. This makes the dock smaller than a 13-inch laptop.
The cooling system uses a new copper evaporator module that is 30% lighter than the previous version. It delivers a level of performance that is comparable to more massive cooling systems. This is also achieved thanks to capillary channels that are 50% thicker.
In addition to the graphics card, the new ROG XG Mobile 2025 has a wide range of ports for connecting various devices:
Thunderbolt 5 support gives the dock 64 Gbps of PCIe Gen 4 bandwidth (graphics cards receive 4 lines) and up to 120 Gbps of total data transfer rate with dynamic acceleration. This allows you to connect fast SSD drives, use multiple monitors with high refresh rates, connect high-speed wired Internet (5 Gbps), and charge other devices at the same time. The device is powered by a 330W adapter, which is 150 g lighter thanks to the use of new MOSFET bridges.
The price of Asus ROG XG Mobile 2025 is $2199.99. Asus is also planning to release a variant of ROG XG Mobile 2025 with an RTX 5070 Ti graphics card, but the release date of this version is still unknown. During CES 2025, its price was announced at $1199.99.
For the price of ROG XG Mobile 2025, Asus offers the ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet in 2025 with AMD Ryzen AI Max processor.
