Asus unveils ROG NUC 2025 mini PC with NVIDIA RTX 5080 and Intel Core Ultra 9 200HX

Asus, which is now producing the mini-PC NUC (Next Unit of Computing, formerly an Intel brand) introduced the ROG NUC 2025 with a mobile NVIDIA RTX 5080 and Core Ultra 9 200HX.

At CES 2025, Asus showcased the second generation of its own ROG NUC. The gaming PC ROG NUC 2025 is equipped with Intel processors (up to 24 cores), without an alternative in the form of AMD chips. The company has not yet announced which specific processors will be used, but they will belong to the Core Ultra 9 200HX and Core Ultra 7 200HX lines. No other video card models have been named, except for the GeForce RTX 5080 for laptops.

Asus announces updates to the design of the NUC 2025 compared to the previous generation. The cooling system of the new PC consists of three fans and a dual vapor chamber. The computer can allocate up to 135 watts for the processor in certain modes. A single-screw case facilitates access to components.

ROG NUC 2025 measures 282 x 188 x 56 mm (3 liters) and weighs 3.12 kg. The PC supports Wi-Fi 7 and DDR5-6400 memory, which users will be able to upgrade themselves. Since the device has received RTX 5080, Asus has finally been able to add support for DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1. Other computer specifications include:

• Storage — 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD (with the possibility to upgrade to 2 TB)
• RAM — DRAM DDR5 6400 MHz 16 GB (with the possibility to upgrade to 96 GB)
• Network — Intel Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Intel 2.5 Gbit Ethernet
• Audio — Realtek ALC3251
• Front connectors — 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C, 2x USB 3.2 10Gbps Type-A
• Rear connectors — 1x Thunderbolt 4 Type-C with DisplayPort 2.1, 4x USB 3.2 10 Gbit/s Type-A, 2x HDMI 2.1 FRL, 2x DisplayPort 2.1, 1x RJ45 LAN, 1x DC-in, 1x Kensington Lock

Based on NVIDIA’s recommended price for laptops with RTX 5080, the system is unlikely to cost less than $2199. Asus ROG NUC 2025 will be released in the first quarter of 2025, the exact date is unknown.
