Paltrow made her debut in «Iron Man» in 2008 as an assistant and later as Tony Stark’s fiancée Virginia Potts.
According to Daniel Richtman, Marvel is considering the possibility of returning the actress and her character in two upcoming «Avengers» films, although the insider clarifies that he is not sure whether they have already had any conversations with her.
Marvel has been thinking about the return of «old» actors for a long time — there were rumors amid the box office crisis to fully involve the original cast «Avengers». In some ways, they turned out to be true, as in the summer the studio announced that Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU — but not as Iron Man, but as Dr. Doom.
Paltrow herself has previously stated that she is not interested in returning to the role of Pepper Potts without the main character Downey Jr.
«Why would you want Pepper Potts without Iron Man?», — the actress joked during a session with fans last year.
While after the announcement of the actor’s return, she wrote to him on Instagram:
«I don’t understand. So you’re a villain now?».
Marvel is currently preparing two new Avengers movies: «Avengers: Doomsday» will be released in theaters on May 1, 2026, while «Avengers: Secret Wars» will debut on May 7, 2027.
