Elden Ring Nightreign / Трейлер
Bandai Namco has announced that it will be conducting online testing of the Elden Ring co-op spinoff Nightreign in February 2025. Registration will start on January 10.
The official the game’s website only the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series logos are posted, which confirms the absence of a PC version during testing.
This practice is common for FromSoftware. The developers previously tested Dark Souls 2 in 2013, Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring exclusively on consoles, despite the simultaneous release of full versions on all platforms.
The decision to limit testing to console versions may be related to an attempt to prevent hacking and data mining of the game. However, even the console versions have not become a complete defense against data mining. Experienced researchers such as Lance McDonald still found development secrets in test versions using modified consoles. It is worth noting that such findings were usually made public after the release of the full versions of the games, either due to the technical complexity of the process or due to a conscious decision by a small number of dataminers who had the appropriate capabilities.
The full release of Nightreign may take place in 2–6 months after testing. Given that this period was approximately three and a half months for the original Elden Ring, the game could be released between April and July 2025.
As a reminder, Elden Ring Nightreign announced at The Games Awards 2024. This is a standalone, independent cooperative action game for three players. Players will be able to choose from ready-made characters, and the gameplay is divided into two modes: survival during the day and boss battles at night.
