Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, shared his disappointing thoughts on the fate of investors in the current market, as well as the role of AI agents.
CZ noted in a comment under by tweet EmperorBTC, which analyzed the psychology of crypto traders and claimed that only 5% of investors truly understand the market. According to EmperorBTC, 80% of investors are — «tourists» who come and go because of the news, 10% rely on «stupid influencers», and another 5% only pretend to be rich.
This is where CZ decided to add a little more sadness. According to him, even 5% of these successful traders, the majority cannot beat bitcoin. In this way, he emphasized the dominance of this «asset, which you can simply hold».
«4% actively trade or work on projects, but do not outperform bitcoin. BTC holders outperform 99% of holders of other cryptocurrencies and other types of assets by doing virtually nothing. To get into the last 1%, you need to make a lot of effort,» said the Binance co-founder.
Also, CZ expressed unpopular opinion about cryptocurrency AI agents:
«Although crypto is a currency for AI, not every agent needs its own token. Agents can charge for services in an existing cryptocurrency. Only launch a coin if there is scale. Focus on utility, not tokens.»
Despite the emphasis on bitcoin and given the current state of the market, CZ himself has focused his investments on Binance’s native token — BNB. At the beginning of the year, he disclosed his portfolio: 98.6% were BNB tokens, 1.32% were Bitcoin.
