Leaked files from Blizzard servers indicate a possible announcement of an updated version of Warcraft II during the celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary.
Techpot publication writes that initially the WoWhead portal discovered files with the name Warcraft II: Remastered Internal Alpha and the game’s new logo. Then, a Stiven insider posted concept art for the upcoming project on the social network X (Twitter). The images show the commander Anduin Lothar during a naval battle with orcs, the design of which corresponds to the original game.
The community of gamers had a mixed reaction to the news due to their previous experience with Warcraft III: Reforged. The 2020 remaster was released without some of the original’s features and made it impossible to play online in the classic version. «Let them fix the bugs in Reforged first before taking on new projects», — commented users Reddit.
Another well-known Marlamin insider confirmed the authenticity of the leak. Blizzard has not yet made any official statements.
