About 10% of electric vehicle owners regret choosing an electric vehicle. This is evidenced by the results of a survey published by americantrucks.
For this study, its authors interviewed 501 American electric vehicle owners to learn about their experiences and disappointments with their cars. They also analyzed data from Google Trends in the 100 largest U.S. cities, focusing on more than 20 terms related to complaints and regrets about electric vehicles over the past year. Based on the total search volume among all terms, an index was created that reflects the level of regret and complaints about electric vehicles on a scale from 1 to 100, where 100 means the highest level of regret and complaints.
The survey results led to the following conclusions about satisfaction or disappointment with electric vehicles:

- On average, EV owners charge their cars outside the home 6 times a month for 49 minutes each time. This adds up to 72 times a year, for a total of 58.8 hours.
- On average, owners of electric cars who regret their purchase charge their car outside the home 10 times a month, which is twice as much as those who do not regret their purchase.
