Oxford-based game studio Rebellion Developments, the creators of the Sniper Elite series, has presented a gameplay trailer for Atomfall — a game that will appeal to fans of Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Atomfall — is a single-player survival action game set in the post-apocalyptic Britainset near and on an abandoned nuclear power plant. Like Fallout, it’s a retro-futuristic game set in an imaginary world of the 20th century that survived the Great War. There are military groups, abandoned equipment, and monsters that resemble gulas.
«This new trailer, shot in the style of a classic 1950s newsreel, offers a closer look at the setting of Atomfall — Northern England. It is inspired by the real-life disaster at the Windscale nuclear power plant in 1957, and takes place five years later in a fictional quarantine zone that encompasses hills, valleys, caves, and even a picturesque English village».
However, the world around them is hostile. To get to the bottom of the mystery hidden in it, the player passes through military camps, underground bunkers, pagan ruins, and constant risk to life. Tools such as a metal detector will help in the journey.
«Many eccentric characters and mysterious organizations inhabit the quarantine zone. These people have been cut off from the outside world for years and left to their own devices, so their behavior is not normal. Your interaction with them is very important and will affect your journey. But be careful, not all of them are friendly, you will have to learn how to use a variety of weapons if you want to survive!»
Previously Atomfall was shown at the Future Games Show and Gamescom. According to reviews, the game encourages freedom of action and a multifaceted approach, allowing the player to use his mind and the available mechanics to achieve the goal in the way he wants. In the game, you can be a hero or kill everyone, or act in another way at your own discretion.
Atomfall will be released in March 2025 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. Many people will be happy that the game will be immediately available on Xbox Game Pass.
