The CEO of JSC «Ukrposhta» said that from February 3, the operator will switch to a fully automated parcel processing process, which will significantly reduce delivery times across the country.
«Starting next Monday, the automation process will be finally completed and 100% of Ukrposhta’s parcels will be processed on robotic lines. Delivery, as we promised, will take place the next day», — Smelyansky said in a comment to the publication «Interfax-Ukraine».
It is noted that «Ukrposhta» has invested more than €1 billion of its own funds» in the automation of sorting centers — the money was primarily used to purchase equipment from local manufacturers. At the same time, another €60 million of the loan remained unused and is planned to be redirected to the «Ukrposhta Bank» program.
As a reminder, on January 28, the Cabinet of Ministers transferred the shares of the First Investment Bank, previously owned by Russian oligarchs, to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development — and from there they will be redirected to «Ukrposhta» to launch the first Ukrainian postal bank and providing financial services to Ukrainians in the most remote regions of the country.
In early December «Ukrposhta» signed an agreement with Temuwhich should speed up the delivery of goods from China to Ukraine, as well as planned to «partner» with Amazon to supply goods from American marketplaces.
ForAccording to ForbesIn just three quarters of 2024, the number of international parcels to Ukraine exceeded 53 million units totaling UAH 44.6 billion (46% more than in the whole of 2023). The largest share is accounted for by goods from China: 43% — AliExpress, 22.46% – Cainiao; at the same time, Temu demonstrates the fastest growth, with its share reaching 12.23% last year compared to 0.01% in 2023.
