OpenAI has introduced a new feature for ChatGPT that allows users to communicate with a virtual Santa Claus via voice chat.
The company has integrated the personality and voice of the Christmas wizard as a pre-installed option in ChatGPT’s advanced voice mode. Santa can be accessed by clicking on the snowflake icon near the input line.
The feature is available on iOS and Android mobile apps, the chatgpt.com website, and OpenAI apps for Windows and MacOS. The opportunity to talk to Santa will be available to users around the world by early January.
Conversations with Santa exist as temporary chats that are not saved in history and do not affect the model’s memory. OpenAI has specifically developed this limitation for the holiday feature.
During the broadcast as part of the 12 days of OpenAI marketing event, a company representative announced a one-time update of the extended voice mode usage limits for each user.
OpenAI has also started implementing video and screen sharing features in ChatGPT’s enhanced voice mode. The new tools allow you to show the environment or content directly, instead of describing items or uploading photos.
Users of Plus and Pro tariffs in most countries will be able to conduct live video conversations via the mobile application. Access for users from EU regions will be available later. Corporate customers and educational institutions will receive video features in January.
