Нова функція дозволяє користувачам iOS шукати будь-що на екрані в Chrome або Google, обводячи предмет
Google has announced an update that allows iPhone owners to quickly search for information right from the screen with a simple gesture. The new feature can be used in the Google Chrome and Google Search apps on iOS. This feature is similar to the Circle to Search feature that is already available on Android. It allows you to select objects on the screen in different ways and immediately find information about them on Google.
On the iPhone, you can search the screen by simply drawing a circle, selecting, or tapping on an object in the Chrome or Google Search apps. For example, if you’re reading an article and see a picture that interests you, you can now simply circle it or tap on it to learn more. If you like an item while watching a video, you can highlight it with Google Lens and find similar products.
This new feature allows you to instantly perform visual searches without having to take a screenshot or open a new tab. It’s also another way to quickly start a regular internet search.
When you select an object, Google will show you visually similar results and additional information. You can refine your search by color, brand, or other parameters. You can also ask an additional question to learn even more.
To use the new feature in Chrome or Google Search, open the menu (three dots) and select Search Screen with Google Lens. Chrome will soon have a separate Lens icon in the address bar to make it easier to use.
The update with the new search capability on iPhone is gradually rolling out to all iOS users worldwide and will be available within a week.
In addition, Google is expanding the use of AI Overviews, which provides a brief summary of information at the beginning of the search results page.
Previously, AI Overviews appeared in Google Lens searches only when users added a text query. Now, this feature will work automatically, even without additional questions. For example, if you see an interesting car model, just take a picture of it with Google Lens and you’ll immediately get a short overview with links to useful resources.
The AI Overviews update will be available this week for users in English in countries where the feature is supported. First, it will be available in the Google app for Android and iOS, and later in Chrome for desktop and mobile.
Circle to Search feature launched last year. It was planned to be used in «selected premium» Android smartphones.
