Anthropic introduced a new tariff plan for active users of the Claude chatbot with expanded limits and priority access to new models and features, but at a crazy price.
Max subscription is available in two variants:
In addition to higher usage limits, Claude Max subscribers will get priority access to unnamed new features (this will likely include voice mode) and models as they are rolled out, as well as «preference during high traffic periods».
Anthropic’s full lineup of plans includes a free subscription for basic access and a Pro subscription for $18-20 for everyday use (depending on whether you sign up for a year or a month).
Similar subscription offers the main competitor Anthropic — OpenAI. Although Sam Altman initially stated that it was unprofitable for the startup, within 2 months after the launch of the tariff, the company’s annual revenue increased by $300 million.
It is noteworthy that, compared to ChatGPT, Anthropic does not offer unlimited use in the subscription, but only provides increased limits.
Last month, Anthropic closed its latest funding round for $61.5 billion. In December, the company’s annual revenue reached $1 billion, about ten times more than a year earlier.
