The IT job market is gradually recovering in Ukraine. For example, in the design industry, as of early 2025, there has finally been a recovery to pre-war levels – February 2022. This is evidenced by data from various sources.
After March 2022, the number of open vacancies for designers was halved. And the process of restoring the number of available vacancies began only in early 2024. Since then, the market has been gradually growing, and as of 2025, the number of vacancies has returned to the level it was before the full-scale invasion.
A similar trend can be seen throughout the Ukrainian IT sector. According to the DOU, the total number of vacancies is now the highest since the start of the full-scale invasion. This process also reflects the global situation: Forrester analysts predict that in 2025, global technology spending will grow by 5.6% to reach $4.9 trillion, driven by cybersecurity, cloud computing, generative AI, and overall business digitalization. Although the industry has recently seen staff reductions.
Experienced designers are in the greatest demand: 67% of vacancies are for professionals with 1-5 years of experience. At the same time, the market is becoming more open to beginners, as the number of offers for them is now the highest since February 2022.
Employers are actively looking for UI/UX designers, graphic designers, motion designers, web designers, and brand designers. Most positions involve remote work. Among office vacancies, more than 40% are open in Kyiv, significantly less in Lviv and Dnipro.
International companies are also becoming more active. In particular, Wix announced the opening of Kyiv Design Hub, a new design center in Kyiv, for which the company plans to hire 50 specialists in various fields.
