Famous director Tim Burton admitted that he considers himself a technophobe and tries to avoid the Internet. He said this on the eve of the opening of his new exhibition The World of Tim Burton in London.
«Everyone who knows me knows I’m a bit of a technophobe, — Burton explained in interview BBC News. — When I look at the Internet, I get quite depressed. It scares me because it pulls me into some kind of dark hole».
According to the director, he gets depressed very quickly, perhaps faster than other people. «It doesn’t take much for me to start clicking and malfunctioning,» Burton added.
Instead of the Internet, the creator of such classic films as «Edward Scissorhands», «Beatlejuice», «Corpse Bride» and «Batman», as well as the TV series «Wednesday», prefers to do simple things. For example, looking at the clouds or enjoying his collection of 10 giant dinosaur models that he keeps in his backyard.
In addition, Burton has previously expressed his dislike of artificial intelligence. Last year, he commented on a BuzzFeed article that used AI to show what Disney movies would look like if Burton had directed them.
«It reminded me of what they say in other cultures: “Don’t take my picture, because it takes your soul,”», — said the director in interview The Independent.
But Tim Burton’s new movie «Beatlejuice Beatlejuice» is doing well. He’s collected The film grossed $145.4 million in its first weekend, while the production cost was $100 million.
