Path of Exile 2 will receive its first major update called Dawn of the Hunt with a new class and a change in the crafting system.

Grinding Gear Games has added the Huntress class + subclasses, as well as new challenges. Dawn of the Hunt is expected to be a key milestone in the game’s history, which gathered more than 500 thousand players online at its release

New class — Huntress, crafting system and combat skills

Huntress — is a hybrid fighter that combines melee and ranged combat with a spear and a buckler. The character will throw spears from a distance, quickly approach for melee attacks, and has a unique parry system. For example, the Disengage skill allows you to quickly retreat after a successful block, get a Frenzy charge, and counterattack with a spear throw.

With some of the longest combos in the game, Huntress will be one of the most dynamic classes in Path of Exile 2. Different characters will also receive five new subclasses that further change the playstyle:

• Ritualist (Huntress) — uses blood to create diseases and curses
• Amazon (Huntress) — specializes in precision attacks and elemental effects
• Witch — the lord of the undead and chaos, capable of sacrificing his own life for the sake of power
• Warrior — a warrior who forges weapons of destruction in the flames of hell
• Tactician — a combat strategist who uses tactics and discipline to destroy enemies

In addition, Dawn of the Hunt adds more than 20 new skills for the spear and unique abilities for other classes. For example, Raise Specter allows you to catch the souls of almost any monster in the game and use them in battle, and Summon Rhoa Mount summons a combat roa that can be mounted or used in an attack.

The update will also include more than 100 new support gems that significantly change the game mechanics. In particular, hemocrystals will turn bleeding effects into explosive Baal crystals. Caltropa stones also create traps that slow down enemies and deal additional damage.

It will now be possible to customize equipment more deeply, as players will receive 20 new runes with the update. They now have development levels, which allow you to create more powerful modifications. Also, the plug-in mod system allows you to improve items through special slots with rare effects.

New challenges: stronger monsters and battles with robbers

The new locations will feature mysterious Azmeri spirits that inhabit monsters, making them more dangerous and powerful. Dawn of the Hunt will feature 12 different types of spirits, each with unique effects.

The update also adds rogue outcasts — NPCs who use the same skills as players and may have unique items. If you defeat them, these items become yours.

The challenges will include new maps and unique safes:

• The Fractured Lake — a constantly changing reality that forces the player to adapt
• Phaaryl Megaliths — ruins filled with powerful Esomite artifacts
• Ogam’s Legacy — a unique safe that makes the fight more difficult after each opening
