Emma D’Arcy of «House of Dragon» reveals the main change in Reynarda in Season 3

Actress Emma D’Arcy, who played the adult version of Reynarda Targaryen in the series «A House of Dragons», spoke about the changes that await her character in the third season.

Some fans were disappointed with the main character’s inactivity during the season, including the final episode, which did not bring the long-awaited battle. Instead, in the third season, the situation will be different — and Reynira will finally be able to take up arms.

«My demand was that I want a weapon. A dagger, a short sword — I don’t care. I always think: “Where to put these damn hands?” The men in the series don’t have such problems,» the actress said in the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via Collider).

Reynira leads an entire army in the series, and it seems that the presence of weapons is justified. Moreover, it is a hint of its potential use in the sequel. On the other hand — she has a dragon, which is already the strongest weapon in the story.

Earlier, D’Arcy said that before filming the series, she spent an evening with Emilia Clarke (Daenerys from «Game of Thrones»), who gave her some «intimate advice».

«A House of Dragons» — is a prequel to the hit «Game of Thrones», based on the novel by George R.R. Martin «Fire and Blood». The plot shows the struggle between the green and black Targaryens for the throne — events that take place 200 years before the events of «Game of Thrones».

So far, two seasons of the show have been released (available in Ukrainian dubbing on Megogo), but the finale of the last one did not impress fans too much: despite the fact that the episode attracted a record-breaking 8.9 million viewers for the season, his scores were the lowest for the show (criticizing, among other things, the large number of drawn-out dialogues and intrigues along with the absence of the long-awaited naval battle). At the same time, Martin himself criticized the show, stating in a now-deleted blog post that some of the changes introduced by the showrunners«break the logic of» the following seasons.

It is now confirmed that showrunner Ryan Condal will need four seasons to cover the story of «Fire and Blood». The third — does not yet have an official release date, but it is expected to start filming in the first half of 2025.
