Fans of the series «Severance» apply for a job at Lumon — the company actually exists and is engaged in glazing

The release of the second season of «Severance» has led to a hiring boom at Lumon, a Finnish international company that divides employees into different personalities and conducts experiments.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the most recent job posting on the real-life Lumon alone garnered 200+ responses, four times the usual number — with most eventually saying they did it simply out of love for the series. Similarly, company owners often receive messages on social media jokingly accusing them of bullying their employees.

Last week, the real Lumon published a blog post titled «What’s the difference between Lumon Group and Lumon Industries?

«We welcome you and want to give you a little clarification: we have the same name as the antagonistic corporation from one of the biggest streaming series of all time. But that’s where the similarities end».

In fact, other companies that are somehow associated with the Lumon name are also facing a lot of attention: Lumon Dental from Detroit, for example, has seriously added to its LinkedIn followers (currently about 6,000) after the release of the series, which is now became the most popular in the history of Apple TV+

The plot of «Severance» centers on Lumon Industries, whose employees undergo a strange surgical procedure that separates their work memories from their home memories — why this is done, we hope, will be revealed in the final episode that debuts this Friday, March 21.

By the way, the streaming service has already released a short teaser for the finale (but don’t expect anything more than a 10-second look at the goat), and Google has added a little Easter party to its search engine — just Google the title of the series and Mr. Milchik will throw a holiday party for you.
