Fawn is out for blood in the trailer «Bambi: The Reckoning» from the creators «Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey»

Do you remember Bambi, the cute little deer who once brought tears to your eyes with his tragic story? Forget it. The creators of «Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey» showed it to adults in the trailer of «Bambi: The Reckoning», but something went wrong with his fate.

The authors of the horror seem to have decided to destroy another part of our childhood. In the newly released trailer, Bambi is no longer a defenseless deer — now you have to defend yourself from it. The animal is shown as a real killing machine that stalks its victims in dark forests and terrifies them.

In the story, the main character Xana (Roxanne McKee from «Game of Thrones») and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) are trying to survive an accident (which was Bambi’s fault). The characters quickly realize that the biggest danger is not a broken car or a dark forest, but an angry deer, which for some reason has decided that it’s time to take revenge for its mother.

This huge, monstrous mutant with sharp teeth throws a car into the air, breaks through the doors of houses, and can tear a person in half. In one scene, he decapitates his victim as he runs past. Perhaps the word «nightmares» best describes how Bambi met strangers.

The movie resembles a slasher and some kind of wild experiment. The filmmakers leave references to classic horror scenes where someone is running away from a villain in slow motion, which looks more like a deliberate mockery

In the comments below the trailer, the audience responded positively to the movie. They liked «’s portrayal of», as well as his idea, but usually the movie is not taken seriously. While many users joked that «seems to have grown up» — some began to wonder why the creators chose a deer to play the role of a bloodthirsty killer

The project’s producers — Scott Chambers and Reece-Frake Waterfield — have formerly worked on two parts of «Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey» and «Peter Pan: The Nightmare of Neverland». It is unknown what the movie will be like because «Blood and Honey» led the award «Golden Raspberries» in the worst category. But if it is deliberately shot «so badly that it becomes good» — it makes sense.

«Bambi: The Reckoning» will be part of the big crossover «Pooh Universe: Monsters Assemble» (Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble). The creators are preparing horror versions of Bambi, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, Peter Pan, the Mad Hatter, Sleeping Beauty, and Pinocchio. The producers want to create their own team of villains.

The movie about the grown-up and crazy Bambi is expected to be released in the summer of 2025.
