Final «Fast and Furious»: Vin Diesel hints at trilogy and Dwayne Johnson’s return to Hobbs

“Fast & Furious 10” was considered by Universal as the first part of the saga’s finale, which started back in 2011, yet Vin Diesel has once again hinted at a trilogy.

Moreover, it seems that Dwayne Johnson may return to the franchise to resolve the “old differences” between Luke Hobbs and Dominic Toretto.

“Universal is whispering in one ear that the second part of ‘Fast & Furious 10’ is needed by March 2026, while Comcast, on the other ear, demands two movies for the finale,” — wrote Diesel on Instagram. “Then the writer of ‘Fast Five’ sent me an image of Dominic and Hobbs and said we need to see them resolve their differences. I just want to return to real street racing, practical stunts… and a reunion of this beautiful brotherhood.”

Previously, Diesel teased a “grand finale” for “Fast & Furious 10”, while director Louis Leterrier hinted at production starting “early in 2025”.

According to Jordan Ruimy from World of Reel, the creators have hired at least three screenwriters during this time, while another industry insider Jeff Sneider wrote that Universal tried to make the film “budget-friendly”, as the first part cost a whopping $340 million and made about $714.5 million at the box office (the previous two, for comparison, each made a billion).

Diesel recently finished shooting in the movie “Riddick: Furya” — the fourth film in the franchise about anti-hero Richard B. Riddick, while Johnson continues working on the “live” adaptation of “Moana”, donning the “costume” of the demigod Maui.
