Tech blogger Jon Prosser has leaked what he claims is the actual final design of iOS 19, which Apple is to unveil in June of this year.
According to Proser, which already has a rather dubious reputation, he expects iOS 19 app icons to be not quite rounded like visionOS, but somewhere between watchOS and visionOS. He also expects Apple designers to add more depth and shadows to menus, and some elements will flicker when interacting with the screen. According to him, this will make it look like they are made of glass.
iOS 19 will also, according to Prosser, get a floating App Store bar when you press the search function. At the same time the search field in the Messages app moves to the bottom of the screen.
The blogger claims that the video shows the most complete build of iOS 19, the current version is the closest to the final version, which is due to be presented in June. The information from Prosser is questioned by Mark Gurman, a reputable journalist and Bloomberg insider.
Prosser has indeed updated his new mockups to include rounded (but not quite round) app icons, which he says, Apple hid behind the old app icons in previous test versions of iOS 19. This, he claims, was done to prevent information about the new iOS 19 design from leaking.
In addition, the blogger claims that Apple has prepared a surprise for future owners of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. It is a feature presented by Samsung back in 2013 in the Galaxy S4 smartphone. Users will be able to record video from the rear and front cameras simultaneously.
According to Bloomberg, iOS 19 will be the largest update since iOS 7, released in 2013. It promises not only an updated OS design but also advanced cross-platform features. The official presentation of iOS 19 will take place on June 9 at WWDC 2025, and the update will be released in September All iPhone models running on iOS 18 will be able to upgrade to iOS 19, but only owners of iPhone 15 Pro and later will continue to receive Apple Intelligence capabilities.
