This has never happened before, and it has happened again. Reviews of the Pixel 9a smartphone are already circulating online even before its official announcement. Several full unboxing videos have already appeared on YouTube, demonstrating the design and features of the smartphone. And these are not just short reviews – one of the bloggers even conducted performance tests.
Several YouTubers received Pixel 9a before the official release. Sahil Karoul published a detailed review of the smartphone, showing it from all sides. Although the video is not in English, you can visually see the design from all sides.
And if you need a more understandable overview, The Mobile Central channel made an English-language video. In it, Pixel 9a is shown in all the details. It also reveals its characteristics. The phone has a plastic back panel, a 6.3-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a 5100 mAh battery.
It is also reported that the Pixel 9a will receive 7 years of software updates, just like the older Pixel 9 and Pixel 8a models.
In terms of design, the Pixel 9a differs significantly from its predecessors. The traditional camera block, which has become a trademark of the Pixel series, has disappeared – now the back panel is flat, without an obvious protrusion for the cameras. The camera block houses a 48-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module.
The overall style has become more minimalist, with flat metal edges reminiscent of the iPhone. The smartphone has a matte finish for a premium look. Pixel 9a is also known to be IP68 water and dust resistant.
The front of the device does not look so modern – the display is surrounded by rather thick bezels.
The leaks also revealed the performance of the new Tensor G4 processor. According to preliminary tests, the chip performs well in games and synthetic benchmarks without overheating. The first photos from the camera were also shown. The other day, we have already demonstrated the capabilities of the Pixel 9a camera.
The Pixel 9a is unlikely to surprise users with anything revolutionary, except for the updated design. However, the combination of an energy-efficient Tensor G4 chip and a large 5100 mAh battery can provide excellent battery life.
Will Pixel 9a become the new king of budget Android smartphones? We will find out after the official release and the first detailed reviews. The presentation is expected in the coming days, and price will start at $499 for the basic version with 128 GB of storage.
