Смартгодинник Garmin Instinct 3 / Garmin
The once free Garmin smartwatch app has received a premium subscription — Garmin Connect+, which will cost $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year (there is also a free 30-day version) and offer a host of new AI features.
However, the release did not provide much information: it is known that Garmin Connect+ will offer AI-based statistics, a performance dashboard with historical graphs, and an improved version of the LiveTrack service.
The first option is called Active Intelligence and will additionally provide personalized advice and recommendations throughout the day based on health and activity data.
In the past, Fitbit introduced a similar solution for premium features, but there is a big difference between the two companies: the most expensive device of the former, the Google Pixel Watch 3, costs $399, while the Garmin Fenix 8 starts at $999. So, it seems that Garmin fans may not be too happy about the offer of additional fees for features.
In fact, the news that artificial intelligence has already taken over fitness apps will surprise few people: Whoop was the first to add an AI-powered trainer at the end of 2023, while last year Strava launched an AI-based summary, and Oura created a separate chatbot for smart rings. In fact, Garmin and Apple were the only ones who stayed away — currently, only the Apple Watch manufacturer remains on this list, and probably because it has some problems with the launch of Apple Intelligence.
