Gemini 2.0 Flash: Google’s faster and smarter AI assistant is now available for all

Google Gemini AI assistant now provides access to the Flash 2.0 model to all users. Previously, this large language model was available in an experimental mode. However, it is now stable and available through a web application and an Android app.

According to available information, the Gemini 2.0 Flash model has the following advantages over the previous versions of Flash 1.5 and Pro 1.5:

• Higher performance: 2.0 Flash offers significantly improved performance, with some tests showing speeds that have doubled.
• Faster time to receive the first token: users will receive answers and generated content much faster.
• Multimodal understanding: the model is able to process and analyze different types of information, such as text, images, and code, making it more versatile.
• Coding capabilities: 2.0 Flash has improved capabilities in creating, analyzing, and executing code in various programming languages.
• Execution of complex instructions: the model better understands and executes complex and detailed user instructions.
• Call functionality: the model can interact with other services and tools to perform tasks, which expands its capabilities.

It’s important to note that Gemini 2.0 Flash is more optimized for daily tasks and other tasks, while Pro models can retain their advantages for more complex and resource-intensive tasks.

The service will also be available for paid Gemini Advanced users, who will retain their access to a 1 million token context window (equivalent to approximately 1500 pages of text), file uploads of up to 1500 pages, and priority access to features such as Deep Research and Gems.

Gemini 2.0 Flash is already the default model for new conversations. However, Google has confirmed that it will keep the 1.5 Flash and 1.5 Pro models in existing conversations for the next few weeks.
