Last night, the 82nd Golden Globe Awards kicked off, continuing the award season for cinema and television for 2024.
Among the films, “The Brutalist” and “Emilia Perez” triumphed, snagging the main awards in the categories for Best Drama and Best Musical or Comedy Film respectively, while the best drama series was “Shogun” by FX—expectedly after this year’s “Emmy” and winning a record 18 trophies.
Besides, “Shogun” took home three acting awards (basically confirming all four of its nominations) and received an important update about the continuation. The series producer Justin Marks noted that active work is ongoing and about 6 weeks remain until the “writers’ room” closes.
Among other series, the Golden Globe highlighted “The Deer” by Netflix (Best Miniseries) and “Tricks” by HBO (Best Musical or Comedy Series).
Meanwhile, “The Brutalist” not only won the main award but also took home the statue for Best Actor in a Drama for Adrien Brody and the directing award for Brady Corbet, who has worked for seven years to bring the historical film to the screens. Demi Moore was also recognized for her role in “The Substance”, Colin Farrell for “The Penguin” and Jodie Foster for “True Detective.”
