Aubé Vermeij once again delights gamers with insights about GTA 6.

Grand Theft Auto VI has been in development for several years. During this time, Rockstar has undergone some changes, including the loss of several well-known employees. This caused concern among fans about the future of the project.

However, the situation is not as critical as it might seem at first glance. Aube Vermeij, who used to work at Rockstar, said that about 80% of the team that created GTA 4 is still working at Rockstar North on the new installment of the series.

Among the key figures remaining in the Rockstar team is Aaron Garbutt, an art director who has been working on the GTA series since the third installment. Sam Gauser, one of the studio’s founders, is also involved in the development of GTA 6.

Rob Nelson, who previously led the development of Red Dead Redemption 2, has been appointed as the project manager. It is worth noting that this team has created such well-known games as Max Payne 3 and the first part of Red Dead Redemption (which, by the way, coming soon to PC).

Despite the fact that some key figures, such as Leslie Benzis, Dan Gauser and Michael Unsworth, have left the Grand Theft Auto development team, a significant number of experienced specialists continue to work on the favorite franchise of millions of players. Given the professionalism of the team and the exciting debut trailer that was shown last year, fans of the series have every reason to hope that the new installment of the cult video game series will live up to their expectations.

Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 in 2025. A new trailer for the game is expected to appear by the end of 2024.
