Enthusiasts have created an unofficial translation and voice acting of the legendary Valve shooter.
YouTuber Denys Shvetsov (Rendaros UA) reported announced on its Twitter account that HamUA studio has released a full-fledged Ukrainian localization of the sci-fi shooter Half-Life 2.
A team of well-known Ukrainian dubbing actors worked on the voice acting for several years. In particular, the voice of the Alliance leader Dr. Wallace Breen was voiced by Eugene Malukha, familiar to the audience as the voice of Alpha and Homer Simpson. The other characters were voiced by Mariana Yankevich (Alix Vance), Sashko Skromny (Eli Vance), Roman Gribovsky (Barney Calhoun) and others.
HamUA Studio not only recorded the voice acting, but also translated into Ukrainian all textual elements of the game — from the interface to the textures in the virtual world of Half-Life 2. Bohdan Podvornyi, Vladyslav Popov, and Artem Korniash worked on the translation of text and textures.
To install the Ukrainian localization, just follow the links left by Rendaros UA in their post. The installation process is quite simple and does not require any special skills.
Half-Life 2 was released in 2004 and instantly gained popularity due to its innovative gameplay, exciting storyline, and graphics that were unsurpassed at the time. The game tells the story of scientist Gordon Freeman, who fights against invaders from another world — the Alliance that has enslaved Earth. Thanks to its revolutionary physics and thoughtful level design, Half-Life 2 is still considered one of the best video games in history.
