Skylum and VP Team conducted a study (via dev.ua) and compiled the happiness index of Ukrainian IT employees — based on factors, that affect their level of satisfaction (including salaries and bonuses), as well as the reasons why specialists change jobs.

Thus, project managers and RnD engineers were the most unhappy in the rankingwho scored 6.27 and 6.55 points in the «happiness rating»; product managers and QA specialists were not too far behind with scores of 6.91 and 6.92, respectively.

Instead, product marketing analysts are the most satisfied with their work (8.03), Solution Architect (7.74), Engineering Manager (7.6), and tech leads (7.66).

Among the main factors that influence the decision to change jobs, «better financial benefits» — received the most votes, and this indicator also correlates with happiness. For example, 94% of IT professionals from the project manager category said that a better financial offer would encourage them to change their current job; in fact, 92% of RnD engineers showed similar results — that is, the two «most unhappy» specialties in Ukrainian IT.

As a reminder, the previous ISACA report showed that 73% of surveyed IT professionals suffered from stress and burnout at work — overwhelmingly young professionals. The reasons cited were heavy workload (61%), deadlines (44%), and lack of resources (43%).
