The canceled spinoff «Game of Thrones» starring Kit Harrington suddenly got a chance to resume.HBO CEO Casey Bloys confirmed that the project has been put on hold, but this does not mean that they will not return to development in the future.
«Maybe we’ll try again», — Bloys said during the presentation of Max’s plans for 2025 (via Deadline).
In April, Jon Snow actor Kit Harrington said in an interview with ScreenRant that the series was postponed due to the lack of «the right story» but noted that there are still chances of returning to the project in the future.
At the moment, the most realistic series from the «Game of Thrones» universe look like «House of Dragon», which has already debuted with two seasons and the story of Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which we expect to premiere in the spring.
«So far, these are the only projects that we feel can go the distance», Bloys said. «There is no green light for other projects —. We are not in a hurry to develop them».
Another potential series, which Bloys did not confirm, is the story of Aegon «the Conqueror» Targaryen — a script for it writes the author of «Batman» Matson Tomlin, but judging by HBO’s statements, the work has not progressed much. Тlikewise there is a chance for a sequel with Arya Stark — at least that’s what it seemed like after George Martin said he met Maisie Williams to discuss a mysterious new project.
And finally, in a few years we expect for the release of the new «Game of Thrones» in theaters — Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that the project is in development «at an early stage».
