HP at CES 2025: Newest Elitebooks – Copilot+ PCs based on new Intel chips with artificial intelligence

Published by Vadym Karpus

HP has announced three new 14-inch Elitebook laptops at CES 2025 that run on the latest Intel processors. The laptop lineup includes the Elitebook Ultra G1i and two Elitebook X models, one of which is a 2-in-1 transformer with a 360-degree screen.

HP is positioning these laptops as AI PCs. Although this is partly due to the unwritten rule that every new gadget must have AI inside, it is also practically due to the fact that Intel Core Ultra 5 and 7 chips are designed for this very purpose. All three Elitebooks are Copilot+ PCs and can perform AI tasks at 48 TOPS. All three Elitebooks come in configurations with 16GB or 32GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage.

The EliteBook Ultra G1i has a better screen, webcam, and touchpad than most. Its 14-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2880×1880 will be available in touchscreen and non-touchscreen configurations. The laptop has a 9-megapixel webcam, and its built-in AI can improve the quality of video calls. The audio system should also impress, with «dual studio-quality microphones» and four speakers.

The non-touchscreen version weighs just under 1.2 kg, while the touchscreen model is slightly heavier. Its touchpad is tactile (like the Apple MacBook from many years ago). This should make it evenly «clickable» ─ it is not pressed inward, but it feels like it — over its entire surface.

The HP EliteBook X G1i and EliteBook X Flip G1i are similar and differ mainly in form factor. The Flip gets its name from its 360-degree rotation, while the standard has a traditional laptop design. Compared to the Ultra, these models have lower resolution LCD panels: 1920×1200 in most configurations, with a 2560×1600 option available for both. The devices also have a lower resolution webcam (5 MP) than the Ultra.

The Flip has a touchscreen in all variants, while the standard has models with and without a touchscreen. It works with the HP Rechargeable Active Pen, but you have to buy it separately for $99.

HP has not yet announced pricing or a release date for either of the new Ultrabooks.
