Positive reviews and tests have led to brisk sales of the Intel Arc B580. Initial stocks of these $250 graphics cards, performing on par with NVIDIA RTX 4060, are running out.
Intel recently launched its second generation of Arc graphics cards, and they instantly became a hit among reviewers, enthusiasts, and shoppers alike. Thanks to a fantastic price-performance ratio, the Intel Arc B580 has become an absolute champion in the budget graphics card market. Many retailers ran out of their stocks almost immediately after sales began. Intel told The Verge that it is working hard to ramp up supply.
“The demand for the Arc B580 graphics cards is high, and many retailers sold out their initial stocks. We expect weekly restocks of the Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition and are working with partners to ensure continuous availability and choice in the market,” said Intel spokesperson Mark Anthony Ramirez.
The success of the Arc B580 is a rare bright spot for Intel amid issues with Raptor Lake processors, lukewarm reception of the new desktop Core Ultra 200S, layoffs, and poor financial results. The attractive price has been a “breath of fresh air” for many gamers and enthusiasts.
NVIDIA and AMD are both criticized for their approach to the budget segment. Graphics cards like the RTX 4060 at $299 and the RX 7600 at $269 only offer 8 GB of video memory. The Intel Arc B580 offers 12 GB, while the less powerful B570 priced at just $210 still packs 10 GB. Intel has also significantly improved drivers compared to the previous generation of its graphics cards — the new ones show stable performance in games.
At CES 2025, NVIDIA and AMD will unveil their new graphics cards. If they wish, they can adjust the prices for better competitiveness, but early leaks do not suggest an increase in video memory. Moreover, budget models from major manufacturers will be released later.
