Google is developing an artificial intelligence codenamed Jarvis that will be able to independently control a web browser and perform everyday tasks. About reports The Information.
According to the publication’s sources, the company plans to present the first version of the project in December 2024. Jarvis will work primarily with the Chrome browser and will help users search for information, make purchases, and book airline tickets.
The system analyzes the screen content by taking regular snapshots and performs the necessary actions based on them: presses buttons and enters text in the appropriate fields.
Jarvis development is part of Google’s strategy to expand the capabilities of the Gemini AI platform. This month, the Gemini Live chatbot received support for dozens of new languages, and its functions were integrated into Google Meet, Photos, and other services.
The news about Jarvis came shortly after Google’s competitor Anthropic — introduced a similar technology for its Claude AI. The system from Anthropic is already available for public beta testing.
