Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has broken its sixth consecutive record for the number of simultaneous players on Steam in the six days of its availability. This impressive achievement is the latest in a series of events that demonstrate the incredible commercial success of the new game.
The second game from Czech developer Warhorse Studios was released on February 4. Some early signs already indicated that the game would be a huge success, as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 took high positions in the Steam best-seller chart even before its release, due to pre-orders alone. Immediately after the release the game received very positive reviews and broke the record of its predecessor on the first day the number of simultaneous players.
The game maintained its momentum in the days following its launch, topping the Steam best-seller chart for six consecutive days as of February 9. Further proof of its success comes from SteamDB data, which shows that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has been setting a new daily record for the number of concurrent players every day for the past week. Most recently, on February 9, this RPG peaked at 256,206 simultaneous players on Steam. According to this indicator, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is now among the TOP 50 most popular Steam games of all time, ranking 49th.
Date | Number of simultaneous Steam players |
---|---|
February 4 | 159 351 |
February 5 | 176 285 |
February 6 | 185 582 |
February 7 | 190 194 |
February 8 | 233 586 |
February 9 | 256 206 |
Warhorse Studios’ creative director Daniel Vavra previously confirmed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 sold one million copies in the first 24 hours on the market, thus immediately recouping the development costs. According to the average of Gamalytic, PlayTracker, and VG Insights estimates, the game’s sales totaled about 890,000 on Steam alone as of February 9. Since PC sales usually account for no more than half of AAA games’ sales, it is likely that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is already close to 2 million copies sold.
Warhorse Studios has recently detailed its post-release support plans aimed at helping Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to maintain its commercial success in the near future. The Czech company is planning to release three paid DLCs, the first of which, called Brushes with Death, will appear in the summer of 2025. This will be followed by Legacy of the Forge and Mysteria Ecclesia, which are scheduled for release in the fall and winter of 2025, respectively.
Before any of these paid expansions hit the market, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will receive a major free update that will introduce a horse racing mini-game, Hardcore mode, and a barber feature. It is currently planned that this content will appear in the spring of 2025.
