Energizer is a brand that is best known for its batteries. However, now this brand will also conquer the consumer laptop market.
Well-known brands often license their trademark to other manufacturers who make completely unrelated products that are then sold with their branding. It seems that Energizer has done something similar and licensed its trademark to Avenir Telecom, which now plans to manufacture and sell Energizer-branded laptops.
At the moment, the company is in no hurry to share the full technical specifications of future Energizer laptops. However, it is known that the laptop line will be called EnergyBook. It will include devices with display sizes of 15 and 17 inches. It is also reported to have 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. This is a small amount by today’s standards. It is more typical for Chromebook devices. Perhaps it is for Chromebooks, which usually have a long battery life, that the Energizer brand would be most rational to use.
This assumption is supported by the estimated price range of the Energizer EnergyBook. The price of this line will start at only $199. Obviously, the manufacturer will not be able to offer powerful components for this price. So, it will be based on cheap and economical processors. So, these laptops are in no way intended for users with heavy workloads, but rather for ordinary users with extremely modest expectations for the performance of their machines.
Avenir Telecom said that the Energizer EnergyBook notebooks should be available in the first quarter of this year.
