Baldur’s Gate 3 will receive a large-scale eighth patch in 2025 — with 12 new subclasses, crossplay, and photo mode.
The update adds one new subclass for each of the existing classes: Bard, Barbarian, Priest, Druid, Paladin, Warrior, Monk, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Wizard. Future subclasses will have new abilities, visual effects, and animations.
List of new subclasses:
The crossplay feature will allow players to play multiplayer with friends using different platforms, such as Windows, Mac, PlayStation, or others, on which the game is running. With the update, players will be able to invite friends to join their crossplay lobby directly, regardless of platform, and find available multiplayer lobbies with friends on other systems through the Larian network.
Photo mode will feature a variety of customization and editing options for in-game photos. Camera, lens, and scene settings are available, along with post-processing, frames, and stickers. Players will be able to set up a shot with the desired camera position, adjust the field of view, exposure, depth of field, and focus, choose a facial expression and character pose from over 40 static and animated poses, and select a frame or sticker to finish the photo.
Larian Studios announced that in January they will stress test the new update and share details with the gaming community.
