Minisforum Introduces MDSA156 Dual Portable Monitor for $231

Published by Andrii Rusanov

Famous for its mini PCs, Minisforum introduced the MDSA156 monitor with dual screens that unfold at various angles.

The Minisforum MDSA156 monitor can be an addition to a company PC or any laptop. It seems like the most convenient way to travel with a reasonably large monitor weighing about 1 kg. It can be comfortably set up on a desk thanks to the built-in stand on the lower screen, which supports several adjustments for different use cases. The screens unfold up to a 315° angle.

Both IPS displays feature a 15.6” diagonal and Full HD resolution, with a maximum brightness of 250 nits. The monitor covers 45% of the NTSC color gamut (72% NTSC ≈ 100% sRGB) — this might explain its cost ($231). However, the device can be handy for tasks not related to professional graphics.

In an infographic, Minisforum showcases the advantages of the monitor. It can provide a vertical orientation of the workspace, unlike two monitors, a comfortable viewing angle and height, and simultaneous use by two people for watching movies or working, which is often needed on trips.

Minisforum MDSA156 has two USB Type-C and an HDMI port for connecting a computer and is equipped with stereo speakers. It consumes up to 30W of power (typically, the actual consumption of monitors is less than the maximum indicated).
